Thermal conductivity of different bio-based insulation materials

To achieve the zero-waste goal as well sustainability, use of raw materials, especially those from nature, and wood in particular, has to be smart, meaning that resource used its full potential. Since wood-based industry is associated with high intensity generation a relatively large amount residues, residues should for production useful products, otherwise they will easily classified waste afterwards source energy. present possible solution like chips, particles bark, we investigated possibility using bark constituents single layer insulation panel target thickness 40 mm density 0.2 g·cm-3. Thermal conductivity was determined steady state principle at three different temperature settings. The average thermal conductivities were between 49 mW·m-1·K-1 74 mW·m-1·K-1. highest values boards made which also had (0,291 g·cm-3), while lowest observed spruce particles.
